How To Use The Site

Consumer / Business Registration

For registration, click the ‘Post Message ‘link provided in the http://www.opencomplaints.com home page.
 If you are not using opencomplaints.com for the first time, then login using your username and password. If you are using opencomplaints.com for the first time,click on the link ‘Post Message’ or 'Register'. There, you can find suitable  links for Individual consumer / Business registration. Fill the relevant fields in corresponding registration form ( i.e., business or consumer form) . Submit the registration form.( clear all the submission errors,if any). Then a password will be allotted and it will be sent to the email address that you specify during registration. Your account will be activated only after you click on the activation  link that will be  provided in your email. Login the site using the username and password.

You can log out of your account by using the ‘Log out’ link provided in “Post Message’ or ‘My Account’.You can send mail to the administrator by using the ‘Contact Us’ link  provided at the top of the web pages.

Post complaints / compliments

 For posting your complaints, or compliments, login using your user name & password. Click on the link ‘Post Messages’. There you can find ‘Add Message’ link provided for posting complaints & compliments. Fill the  required details in  complaint / compliment form and submit.

View Your Posted Messages

   To view your posted complaint/compliment messages, click on the link ‘ Post Message’ in the home page.There, choose ‘Your Messages’ provided for complaints or compliments. You can find all the messages posted by you with options for edit, move, delete your message and view the comments given for your message. ‘Your Comments’ link displays all the comments entered by you for other complaint/compliment messages.

You can change your password or email address in the ‘Edit Profile’. When you change the email address, a new password will be automatically sent out to that address.

View complaints/compliments
  Complaints:
To view the complaint messages, use the link ‘Complaints’ provided in the home page..
There you can browse the complaints/compliments category wise.( ‘-ve’ denotes complaints, ‘+ve’ denotes compliments.). Click on the link ‘-ve’  inside a category, to browse the complaints  posted under that  category.

You can also search for consumer messages by giving key words.

The latest consumer complaints are also displayed in the home page. You can browse all the complaint messages by using the ‘more messages’ link provided at the bottom of latest consumer complaints list.

You can see more  details of  a complaint/compliment by clicking on corresponding message.( i.e., details of the consumer/business by which message is posted, company information that complaint is against,etc). Here, you can also add your own comment to the message by clicking on the link ‘Add Comment’ provided in the message description.
Compliments:
 To view the compliment messages, use the link ‘Compliments’ provided in the home page. There you can browse the compliments category wise. Click on the link ‘+ve’ inside a category, to browse the compliments posted under that  category.. You can also search compliments by giving key words.

The latest compliments are displayed in the home page. You can browse all the compliment  messages by using the ‘more messages’ link provided at the bottom of latest consumer complements list.
You can see more  details of  a complaint/compliment by clicking on corresponding message( i.e., details of the consumer/business by which message is posted, company information that complement is in favour,etc). Here, you can also add your own comment to the message by clicking on the link ‘Add Comment’ provided in the message description..
